Pause it to see (barely) a customed conductor under the Michelangelo David statue, using an unusual 'baton.' We chanced on a celebration at Florence, Italy's Piazza della Signoria. The marble copy of David that stands where the original used to, until 1783, can be seen at the right. That's Neptune at the left.

My -still- photos showing the conductor costumed and leading the band with a SWORD at this Piazza that also includes Cellini's Perseus, are at the link above and is from the general series at http://www.pbase.com/andrys/italy
