Was testing out how the quality of the built-in mic on the Logitech c910 hd webcam stood against a little distortion from a guitar.

At first I was trying to play straight up, but then I made a mistake and was like whatever since it takes too long to process 1080p anyways lol.

  • Enjoyed your guitar work! Hope to hear more. Thumbs up!

    peace,

    Tim

  • @bucktheusa If I lived near you I would definitely ask to record from your place if you did get the pro model dude lol

You're right, USB mics are awesome, but if you have a Mbox anyway, why scrimp on your mic? lol I think your usb mic would hold back your Mbox :P

And yes I am using Audacity to record, no other choice in my opinion! (Reason is waaay too complex for me right now since I don't have the time to learn it and the others are bleh haha)

  • Ebay has Mbox 3 mini's for $250 NIB. That's pretty damn good.

Thinking of maybe bumping up to the firewire pro model.

Don't have the cash for that one but thinking it might be a way to make some money recording live gigs or renting recording time out of my garage...

I might as well get a non USB mic if I have the Mbox since it has phantom power anyway.

Heard the AT2020 is bad for live cause it picks up too much. Supposedly study as hell though.

    You using Audacity to record?

  • @bucktheusa going from 480 to 720 isn't as huge of a difference, but from 360 to 480 is a huge difference in sound quality. 480 to 720 is slightly noticeable too. Then 720 to 1080 isn't that noticeable sound quality-wise. probably not that noticeable when your speakers are blown though lol

I haven't have enough money to invest in an Audio Interface, though I definitely want to get one when I buy a legitimate condenser mic.

The snowball mic is amazing for it's price!

  • No toggle on that ralph? Sounds a little too tinny. I get a better SHB blues sound on the bridge pickup. I toggle up and use on the bridge PU and set the tone a little above half. It lets the guitar make the sound. It could just be your amp settings or the camera or even my speakers...but sounds more like an LP here that a SHB.

Great cover BTW even though I'm still partial to the studio version. Love the BBC tapes version too. Where is this from?

  • Is there really a difference in sound playing the vid in HD?

My speakers are kinda blown so I can't tell if it changes when switching to 1080 on the playback. I just bought this cam to do YT guitar vids.

Next on my list in an Mbox3 and AT2020USB mic to keep things on a budget.

Hows the snowball? Seen the Yeti/AT2020 comparisons and it was pretty decent but seemed to have too much bass response for acoustic. Yeti too much gain and ugly. 2020 is flat but I can EQ it postmix.

  • I am jealous... The closest I get to an HD mic is my snowball mic and I have only my crapping built-in webcam that has horrible resolution...

  • takes to long to load.......and it sounds like santana
