ADCO were appointed by the Port of Brisbane Authority to deliver the design, construction and fitout of its new headquarters in Brisbane. The project comprised of a 6,400m2, 7 level office building featuring a high level of architectural design and intent. The reinforced concrete framed building incorporated a unique design of curved external balconies and a large open span foyer that creates an amazing, contemporary work environment.

The building achieved a 5 Star Green Star rating for Design, As-Built and Interiors, and is the first building in Australia to do so under Version 3 of the Green Building Council's commercial rating tool. It incorporates sustainability initiatives such as electronically controlled external blinds to reduce heat loads on the building, a central atrium providing natural ventilation, grey water recycling, storm water harvesting and reuse and a chilled beam air conditioning system.

The $35 million project was completed on programme in 14 months and to the highest standards of quality.
