Fox News carried it live. Sean Hannity later found clips of it offensive, weather genuinely or for his own partisan reasons, and covered it. Al Franken finds this outrageous and in his book, did his best to distort what happened at what was supposed to be a non-political FUNERAL for a senator. (more)
"One of the eight eulogies that night, given by Wellstone's best friend Rick Khan, ended with a political call to arms taht went over the top." -Al Franken, "Lies, And the Lying Liars Who Tell Them"
That's the first speaker. The second was calling for social and economic justice, that's barely political given Paul Wellstone's life. The third was his son, who had just lost both parents in the midst of the campaign. Are you suggesting that his own son was callously using his father's death?

these are both tangent points to the ones made in the video.

Wow, when you dilute a multi-hour event, filled with emotion and grieving into a one minute clip, it definitely does look like a rally. Unfortunately, Paul Wellstone's funeral was not a one minute clip, and fortunately, not a political rally.

as you've never attended a political rally, so your ignorance and thus FAIL response can be excused. they're not multi-hour events of non stop screaming. they contain talking, interspersed with passionate rallying such as you see here.
not one of Frankens targets claimed that the funeral was a nonstop yellfest. their claims comport with the truth of the event: as shown, there were indeed offensive/inappropriate politically charged moments.
Franken lied and you fail at defending him.

You make many assumptions here, so your lack of a true point can be excused. Ironically enough, I have been to a political rally. However, though, you seem to believe that I assumed political rallies to be "non-stop yelling". That is not the truth, though your entire syllogism is centered around it. Kind of a straw-man deal, no?
However, the truth remains that, in the heat of a campaign, this funeral was impressive in its relative lack of politics.

Vocabulary FAIL: there is nothing "ironic" about your having attended a political rally. your personal life has nothing to do with Frankens lies about the Wellstone Memorial critics.
Pay attention to your own words: You said this video [of yelling] was not the entire memorial [implying that b/c political yelling was not 100% of the memorial, it could not be criticized as a political rally].
Fail.

Your opinion that there should have been more political rallying at a funeral because a campaign was going on is a tangent point having nothing to do with Frankens smearing of those who raised concerns and outrage over the offensive partisan battle cries at a memorial service.
