Blest are They, used as a communion song at the 1/30/2011 mass.

Piano, organ, violin, clarinet, and choir (although with this view, the piano comes out too loud, unfortunately).

1. Blest are they, the poor in spirit, theirs is the kingdom of God. Blest are they, they, full of sorrow,
they shall be consoled.

REFRAIN: Rejoice and be glad! Blessed are you, holy are you! Rejoice and be glad! Yours is the kingdom of God!

2. Blest are they, the lowly ones, they shall inherit the earth. Blest are they who hunger and thirst,
they shall have their fill. (REFRAIN)

3. Blest are they who show mercy, mercy shall be theirs. Blest are they, the pure of heart, they shall see God! (REFRAIN)

4. Blest are they who seek peace; they are the children of God. Blest are they who suffer in faith, the glory of God is theirs. (REFRAIN)

5. Blest are you who suffer hate, all because of me. Rejoice and be glad, yours is the kingdom;
shine for all to see. (REFRAIN)

  • Are you using an iPad to read your music? If so, what program? Forscore?

  • @DrJimiJon It's not an iPad, but a Thinkpad tablet PC. I just use Acrobat Reader with the PDF file displayed fullscreen. It's simple, but it works great.

  • Again very nice. Do you only play Church music? I would love to hear you play, Polonaise. My girl friend years ago could burn up the piano. I think you can do the same with that song. I do love organ music as well. Its better to watch and hear someone that knows now to play these then to try it myself. LOL> I remember years ago I tried to play the organ by numbers. LOL. yes... LOL...Just for your info, I was in a mixed chorus in High school and was Present of the Mixed chorus.
