Funny how they didn't do that on the Lamborghini Gallardo in that case.
You know I have read a lot about Lamborghini and most of the time they only designed something to look extraordinary or unique.That's typically Italian. Until the 2000's they didn't care on iota about "practicality" or designing doors so that you could PARK the thing easier (those cars were meant to be driven not parked).
I'd say Marcello Gandini wanted to "outdo" the legendary Mercedes 300SL (gullwing doors)
