You can just see the rat's tail disappear at the start of this clip. This swallowing movement is highly specialized in snakes, and involves undulations of the backbone which make the snake's muscles push the food along towards the snake's stomach.

  • because albino means that his has no skin pigments and albinos have red/pink eyes....and since it has no skin pigments...it's white...

  • at least you're correct that this snake not a "pure albino" which would be totally white, but i believe this is almost impossible to achieve with burmese pythons although you can get pure white corn snakes, kingsnakes even cobras! albino burmese pythons generally mean the yellow/white form 90% of the time but there are a few other colour forms. this particular albino burm does have red/pink eyes though...

  • umm...bud....that's a corn snake...it's not albino...you seem to know how it is key for the motions of the snake so it can digest it's food...but obviously you don't know what kind of snake it is or the definiion of and albino....

  • umm...honey....that's an albino burmese python, male, about 7 feet long...it's not a corn snake...

  • Albino is the term used for the general lack of black pigmentation in the skin of the animal. Leucistic is no pigmentation in the skin. That snake in the video is an albino burmese python. and if it makes you feel better newbie...there are several types of albino burms but just the pattern is all thats changed. have fun.

  • gemini its a albino burm not a corn snake
