The Village Fantasies tale saw its beginnings more than forty years ago when founder and Artisan, Stephen Baird, was but a wee lad growing up in the sprawling village known as Los Angeles. Captivated by his family's decades old tradition of displaying a miniature Christmas village for the Christmas season, our young founder would in time take his passion for his family's tradition to a much grander stage by designing, creating, and sharing with the world his gift of bringing miniature and historically based Harvest and Christmas villages to enchanting and realistic life.
What distinguishes the custom Harvest and Christmas Villagescapes that Stephen creates from the more common family home display is his visual mastery of capturing and presenting historical details with breathtaking and deeply textured landscapes. For years, Stephen's displays have mesmerized viewers by taking them back to a time that previously only artwork, theater, and movies could replicate. Now, viewers of Stephen's displays can envision themselves docking an ocean weary schooner at a rustic New England seaport, or imagine they feel the chilling breeze of winter winds brushing through tree branches near a woodland waterwheel .
