does using the same jar full of cleanser 'contaminate' the other brushes? I understand you wouldn't just keep using the same solution over and over, but if you are cleaning like 10 brushes, do you need to change the solution between each one?
thanks for your help.

Do you have to use baby shampoo and your nails are really pretty!

THINK ABOUT IT, DAWN dish detergent is used for cleaning animals that were victims of oil spills in the ocean/river or sea (how harsh can it on your fur/hair or synhetic hairbrushes). DAWN is great for cleaning the dirt grease & grime from your make up brushes also. & it does it without alot of effort.
After you clean the brushes lay them flat on a paper towel to dry.
MAC solution is good for daily "spot cleaning" of your brushes using a paper towel for swiping.Baby shampoo wont cut grease.

i have the MAC cleaning solution. But let me tell you, its great for conditiong & maybe getting rid of the bacteria. BUT for cleaning really dirty greasy brissles/brush hair...it does not cut it! What I did for one of my favorite brushes (it was extremely dirty shame on me)! When the MAC solution didn'twork I went to the kitchen, put a pump of DAWN on the brush lathered & rinsed 2x. NO MORE grease dirt or residue just that fast. Then used the MAC solution for conditioning the brush. VOILA!!!

sounds good, but doesn't it dry the hair?

how much is that jar from micheals?
Hey Vanessa,
it doesn't ruin the bristles right ? Because it sounds like its legit being rough on them .. maybe its just the camera being close to it ? Please let me know because I am really tempted to buy that jar. Thanks :)

Hi gorgeous! No it doesn't ruin your bristles, the sponge it rubs against is really soft, almost like hair, and not as rough as normal sponges, and they clean pretty well!

Great tutorial, so glad I found it, but one question. How much is the MAC brush cleaner and if I were using the baby soap, would I put that on the sponge with some water or what would I do differently?

Hi there, I think the brush cleaner was around $10 or $11 and if you are going to use baby shampoo I suggest just applying it on the brushes and skip the sponge and just gently clean with your fingers as it its probably easier and effective that way...

so no water?. why is this way better tho

Water isn't needed since you are already using a brush cleaner, you may use water if you like, but my brushes are clean and dry as soon as I take it out from the jar with a paper towel...
