Of course the USA is not a democracy.

Here in America, the only people capable of funding political campaigns are those who are already financially "better-off" than the rest of us. Ordinary citizens never get the chance to become Senators or Representatives, except in low-population areas because otherwise they'd need to either have or raise massive amounts of money to fund television campaign ads, rallies, etc.
