Another day, another loss. We went down 4-3 to Woolston in a close fought match. We probably deserved to get a draw but it wasn't to be.
Woolston went up 1-0 early on after a couple of defensive errors. A few minutes later we were awarded a penalty for a hand-ball by a Woolston defender. After no-one offered to step up and take the shot I had to come up from keeper to take it and sent it over the cross-bar. Thats pretty much all I've heard about all Saturday night!
Soon after Sam leveled it up at 1-1 after a good run up the middle.
Woolston nailed a couple more, again from poor defending to send us into the break down 3-1.
Early in the 2nd Woolston made it 4-1 after a scramble in the box fell straight to their players feet on the line.
Rozza charged down their keepers clearance to earn a tap in to make it 4-2. With 5 to go he nailed a beautiful free-kick from a few metres outside the box to make it 4-3.
The last 5 minutes saw us having a few half chances on their goal but we ran out of time and Woolston took the win.
The loss drops us down to mid-table so we need to turn it up and get a result this week to stay in touch with the leaders.
A solid first game back for Davie in the middle and some solid defending from Tim whos showing a lot of confidence now that hes getting a few games under his belt.
Special mention to Tim who took a boot to the face trying to win the ball.
Cheers Nikki and Whitney for some nice camera work and getting a good shot of my penalty. There was no highlights from the 2nd half as the battery died early on in the half.
Until next week.....
