  • Joe McKenna and Joe McHugh are the pipers, I think

  • What is the name of the band and the pipers? The piper who has no beard has terribly leaking bellows. How on Earth can he play with such bellows; he must be a very good piper.

  • Brilliant and that's not because I'm related to Joe and Anto

  • The first tune is a slow air called "Inisheer", composed by Thomas Walsh!

  • oh for frigs sake

  • I wept. My Da, God rest him would have loved this.

  • Their back catalog is definitely worth seeking out, my favorite is the "Traditional Music of Ireland" LP originally issued on Shanachie. Joe's Low Whistles album is available on CD.... none of the stunning regulator work but good music nevertheless.

  • If my ears serve me well it's "The Eagle's Whistle" in a slightly different arrangement than the original.

  • Piper on right is Joe McKenna and the harpist is his wife Antoinette. They had some really fine albums on vinyl, but to my disappoint in the CD era all I could find was a "best of" compilation. Antionette's sister is the unsurpassed whistle player Mary Bergin.

  • Inisheer

  • What's the first slow called?

  • leaky bellows/bag? nice playing.
