So I'm very interested in getting triggers, but (I don't really know how to say this) can the trigger on the snare/toms pick up softer hits and play them back as softer hits, or does it register every hit as just one volume?

Out of curiosity, can you get the actual sound out if your drum and use a trigger as an alternate mic? Or do you have to use the sounds from the module?

I want to use triggers just on my bass drum to use 808, deep bass tones, what do I need to buy, and can I use my laptop as a sound source? Thanks guys totally new to all this. :D
