It's not about a "friend", it's obviously a sopcial commentary on the white trash types from shows like Jerry Springer. He sings in verse 2 "your perfect little body that's been so close to mine". That's about a woman, not a man.

what in the name of jumping Jehosephat is this song about? OMD if you're out there tell me please. I have been a huge fan I even have the blue vinyl version of Architecture and Morality that I paid $30 for in LA in 1989. I shall be commenting many omd videos so i may have more questions.
