Ya, it sucks that the ER turned you away, and if this is actually a true story, I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I'm not sure what you want to happen, but I think that you needed to find a different ER, a charity, or a friend, or family memeber to help you out. I don't think that socialized healthcare is really going to help you, it'll just make the wait longer and the healthcare worse.

Bullshit. I got turned away from Loma Linda emergency room in Southern California after an auto accident and was told to go to Riverside community because I had no health insurance.

Yeah....Just tell em your an ILLEGAL Alien. Uh, I mean Migrant Worker. They never pay for anything. Don't need car insurance or anything. Government assistance, food stamps. Learn from the best!

Don't you love a lie about mid week.
The ER wouldn't turn anyone away for no insurance. They also wouldn't turn them away from admitting them if they needed it either. You might have one kickass bill when you left, but you wouldn't freaking die.
