I bought a Taye Drumset a couple weeks ago. I've never played the drumset before, but have been watching some lessons online about stick technique and exercises and it seems to be catching on pretty quick. Drums are fun! Here's a few tunes I'm working on learning...

  • one little tip when u play the kick drum let the mallet come off the drum head!

it will make ur drum have a nice sound!

  • thanks for watching, and for the tip. shortly after shooting this i watched a DVD called 'unburying the beater' and it's had a huge impact on my feet. now the beater is always in a 'resting' position when i'm not hitting the drum.

  • dude after two weeks? not bad at all

way better than when i started

before i would never play an open-hat

    cuz i would get confused

    but dude

    two weeks

    thats pretty sick

    :]

  • put a pillow in ur bass drum it is too halo

  • try to play with different dynamics when you get better my i'm 14 and i've been taking drum lessons for 5 yrs but what i mean by dynamics is try not to be so predictible when you play i understand you just started the basic thing you want to practice is basicaly making something sound good oh yea and rudiments.

watch tony royster jr/dave weckl good examples or unpredictible

    good luck
