Chop-Sucky: Bad Kung Fu Dubs - Northern Kicks, Southern Fists

"Northern Kicks, Southern Fists", starring Liu Chung Liang, Lo Rei and Chin Lung. I thought bootleg distributors were attempting a ripoff calling this "Secret Rivals 3", but it turns out that classic was originally titled "Northern Kicks, Southern Fists" in Chinese, while this film's Chinese title was the same, save for the word "New" attached to it, suggesting that this is some sort of reboot. The main hook is preserved, that of two champion fighters going at each other before teaming at the end to face a common enemy. This time, however, they are joined by a wood-carving, reckless fu fanatic in order to provide so-called "comic relief." This flick is packed with fierce action, undercranked underlings, incompetent enemies and ambushes that fail so miserably you wonder how the villain got where he was.
