Use FreeNAS and ZFS to create a quota for a Time Machine share and a Samba share on the same hard disk. This can also work with RAID setups if you use ZFS as your filing system.

  • Hi, I have got as far as creating the data sets for samba and timemachine, however when i go into file browser I do not have the drop down menu shown in your video for creating a new folder in the samba share for example. Please help if you can?! I have the same file browser 2.3

  • @Maniac618 Even though this video was only from March of last year, its actually a bit old. There is a new version of freenas now (freenas 8) that may have a different setup. I may make an updated video eventually. Assuming you have 0.7, are you saying that you don't have an 'advanced' drop down menu or you can't find where your folders are?

  • help: i dont have my data sets showing up i saved them and its still fucking around and acting like a nigger!

  • @74steve66 hmm, I'm not sure what could be causing it- Start again if necessary and follow all steps exactly
