this is a voltage drop test on the insulated (positive) and non-insulated (ground) cables in the starter circuit. in this test you will determine if you have excessive resistance in the wiring and/or starter solenoid due to corrosion or poor connections.

  • I'm using this for advice to someone, but to do this test correctly the one lead must be on the post not the terminal. If the terminal has resistance you'll miss it the way demonstrated, so you're not testing the whole circuit the way you demonstrated.

  • should the positive battery cable be red?

  • Thanks brother for this video. Awesome.

  • is that reading normal??

  • finally, someone on youtube doing a proper V drop test demo.

    Awesome!
