Originally a Desktop game, Galcon was an award winning game with amazing innovative ideas. On May 14, 2006, Galcon was announced the winner of the 8th Ludum Dare competition held April 28-30th. Phil Hassey (the game creator) swept the competition, with four 1st places and one 2nd place award.

Galcon has now arrived on the scene with the iPhone and iPod Touch and with its new touch interface is better than ever. The touch controls feel like it was the way Galcon should have been all along and takes literally 60 seconds to start playing.

The reason I say this game is the next best thing for iPhone that no one seems to know about is this: Sega's Super Monkey Ball on Aug 11, 2008 has an estimated 300,000 sales to a game that really has limited dimensions of game play and I was bored of it after about a day of playing. Monkey Ball currently has a 3.5 star review rating in the App Store. Galcon has 6 different types of game play, one of which is "Net Game" where you can play on, online servers or play on your own local network with your friends. This gives a dimension to the game Galcon that is just not there with any other iPhone game at the moment. As well you can go online to the Galcon website and compare your ranking to the rest of the Galcon community from your net game scores.

Galcon currently sits in the Apple App Store at a 4 star rating with the majority of its ratings submitted before netplay was even introduced. This extremely high paced Real Time Strategy game is a must have innovative game. There is nothing else like for the iPhone and iPod Touch at the moment and at the same price as Super Monkey Ball, how can you go wrong?

Yep. You can play online over Edge, 3G, or WiFi with people from all over anywhere. There's always players to play against in 2, 3, or 4 player FFA, as well as 2v2 team matches.
