I also think you should use a little stress coat every once and a while to help with the fishes slime coat! some oils in humen skin can hurt the fishes natural coat

My 11-inch red oscar is almost 4 years old, and finally only just now lets me pet him. It took a few years for him to like being close to me. I usually only do it though when I'm cleaning, and then I reward him for putting up for me with lots of food afterwards ;)

My dad had a pair of oscars a while back, they were really smart fish. Redecorated the entire tank on their own by pushing the rocks and pots around and moving the gravel on the bottom to make some hills.
