My 67 Fastback Mustang Again... This event was the first event with my new 3-link coil over rear suspension that I designed. It worked extremely well and I expect it'll get a tad better with a little more tuning. The front end now pushes real bad - I'm assuming this is due to the spool in the rear end.

The spool worked quite well with the leaf spring suspension - but with the rear tires in better contact with the ground the car wants to continue in a straight line rather than turn in. The spool will be replaced before the next event with a Half Tight DPI platinum LSD.

The miss shift between 6 and 7 was actually just an accidental shift into neutral, so the 9k peak was just a free rev. The motor should be capable of spinning near 10k with out trouble (not tested...) though it makes the most power well before that.

More information and photos of the car can be found here:

  • he finally found his balls at 1:30!

  • @halomaster985

Finally got some heat in the tires before pushing the car a little bit...

  • @jsr512 Oh, usually you do that at the start.

  • @halomaster985

Usually takes about a lap to build up decent heat in the tires... This is the start. The video starts with the car in the hot pits, with cold engine, cold tires, cold me, ... This isn't a race - it's an open track event.

  • love this car! what transmission are you using? automatic of some kind?

  • @MrSilverStang04

It's a Tex Racing T101a. It's a manual transmission with a clutch - designed to shift with out using the clutch. The gears are straight cut and the transmission uses a dog-ring mechanism for gear selection. Very similar to a Jerico.

    maybe on tv it does.

  • Wish more people would add the rear view cam when they past and just kept it in the direction of the nearest racer..

  • Ok halo master, im glad you can do all your track tuning on the street. This is just open tracking too, test and tune always....

  • @brian357 which is why you break it in before race day

  • @halomaster985
