For best visual clarity watch at 720p in full-screen mode.

This is a sound check of 4 audio profiles created for my TS-590S with the free Kenwood software which you can download from their web site. No external audio processing is used here, only the built-in EQ functions of the TS-590S are being utilized. The microphone is a 10 dollar "homebrew" electret condenser unit that I have been using in some form or other for the past 35 years. With the TS-590 it was necessary to modify my circuit somewhat to allow for a few oddities. The new circuit is completely compatible with my Flex 5000A, the TS-590S, several VHF-UHF radios, and even my old AM rigs. Details for construction of the 10 dollar microphone can be found at the link below:

The profile in the video that is named "User 2" is the EQ I have settled on for daily use. Profiles 3 and 4 seem rather muted, and profile 5 lacks midrange energy. If you have suggestions for me, I would welcome them. Note in the spectrum display of the Flex software, that the audio peak present at roughly 1200 cps is the fan noise from my computer system.
