i learned to surf on a short board. all my friend were about learning crazy tricks and i just wanted to ride. all i cared about was being in the water and feeling the power of mother nature under me. one day a friend brought her dads longboard to the beach. i paddled out on it and caught a waist high wave on it and at that moment i knew i would never buy another short board again.

what's wrong with everybody? We're all surfers! I started surfing to get away from these kind of situations! There shouldn't be a battle between short or long or body boarders, we should all relax.. thats why i surf! people get along!

hey remoteholder, take a break ! been surfing since 1965, never had to deal with your type of attitude in the water-(east coast or west coast.) the waves and the water are the common thread for anybody with a board. anybody who's been surfing more than a week is well aware longboards are catching waves and in trim while the shortboards are practising paddling. why is it that every beach i've been to it seems shortboards are dropping in on the "old wankers" ???????? see you in the water.........

@first2four best reply ever. haha never looked at it that way. haha the problem us short board riders have with longboarders, is most of the time there old wankers that think cayuse they habve been surfing the break for a million years they own it and can drop in on u whenever.
i got into a pretty heated argument the other day cuase some longboarder did just that.
there not all bad, just some give them a bad name
