This is the story of the last few moments of the prophet Joseph Smith Jr.

One is reminded of any important place in history which may have had terrible events occur there yet there is always a lesson of some kind to be learned which includes that we should always value life and the pursuit of truth where ever it may lead us, whether or not others may choose to oppose or hate typically out of ignorance and fear of the unknown. There was no man who has had more both good and bad said about him than Joseph Smith. Love him or hate him he accomplished more than any man could've done without some divine inspiration and what he accomplished was to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ in it's fullness to the earth once again. The easy path would've been to deny his first vision from the beginning but true to his character of integrity, his entire family believed him from the start(not many families I know of would do this making such a bold claim as to have seen God the Father and God the Son) however this owes to his Christian early 19th Century upbringing to be honorable and tell the truth. He underwent great trials up to and including his martrydom in this jail on July 27, 1844. He was a great man, members of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints do not worship him they are only thankful for what he has done to bring us all closer to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Please out of courtesy do not leave hateful or negative comments the purpose of this is to share not to prove anything as I have nothing to prove and know that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and I do my best to love all people of all faiths and ask you do do the same. Thank you.

  • this is totally inaccurate and is not historical. Joseph smith did not die like a Martyr, Christ was a martyr. What this video does not say is that Joseph smith did not die like a innocent peaceful man of god. Actually, he went down more like a gangster, shooting and killing 4 people. It should have been 6 people but two rounds in his gun misfired. Does this sound like a poor innocent man of god, did Jesus kill any of his persecutors? Absolutely not! Jesus went willingly and peacefully!

  • @rsktransport we are not comparing Joseph Smith to Jesus Christ as one was a prophet and one was, and is, the Son of the Living God. Although Joseph Smith did willingly and peacefully give himself up knowing full well, and even speaking of this to several witnesses, that he would be illegally executed without a trial of his peers which every American has the right to receive(both then and now). Defending against a huge mob with a tiny pistol and a cane is still a slaughter & cold-blooded murder.

  • It's funny how all of you say "Joseph Smith was not a martyr" because he was. He died defending for what he believed in. The thing that confirms my testimony of this prophet is that he never denied what he believed, after being thrown in jail, being tarred and feathered, after watching family members die, after watching friends and their children get killed, after being denied and made fun of, and after being rejected by all those who he knew and loved, he never, not once denied it.

  • @rsktransport "Joseph smith did not die like a Martyr, Christ was a martyr"

A martyr is someone who dies for their beliefs. The rest of what you post is HOGWASH because it is inaccurate.

  • Billions shall know Brother Joseph one day!
