The reporters had no idea what was going on. They were being journalists, and reporting the news as they see it. Calling them idiots makes you an idiot.

i think we have to remember also that this was a totally different time to now. terrorism wasnt a widely known concept. the reporters probably didnt want to even consider that that this may have been dilberate.
