First, it is important to understand that SHARK has a great deal of respect for good law enforcement personnel. Society could not get along without these dedicated men and women.
Because of the importance of GOOD law enforcement, we find those who abuse their authority to be have an extremely corrosive effect on society.
In this case, a Pennsylvania State Police Officer behaves in a most peculiar fashion. Is it shocking incompetence, or something far worse?
ISSUE UPDATE -- 12/05/08, THE AMERICAN CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION (ACLU) WARNED THE PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE THAT THERE WOULD BE COURT ACTION IF THERE WERE FURTHER RIGHTS VIOLATIONS IN CONNECTION WITH THE PUBLIC EASEMENT.
SHARK THANKS THE ACLU FOR ITS VERY SIGNIFICANT ASSISTANCE.
WE PREDICT THAT THE STATE POLICE WILL NOW SUDDENLY "REMEMBER" WHERE THE PUBLIC EASEMENT HAS BEEN FOR ALL THE YEARS THERE HAVE BEEN PIGEON SHOOTS AND ACCOMPANYING PROTESTS AT THE STRAUSSTOWN KILLING CLUB.
Cpl. Winter's conduct should not be taken as being indicative of all PA state police personnel.

Technically, the property ends at the edge of the drainage ditch if the drainage ditch was dug by the government in the execution of creating the road. If not, then its up to the road boundary or curb side. Also, placement of the trespassing signs is not a legal placement of property boundary, they can be placed anywhere on a property....

Been a gun owner most of life but I have to agree with the people from SHARK. What the gun club is doing is just plain wrong.

Typical for Cops to act as judge and jury, when they are corrupted by power.

I think he did his job in a very professional manner, in PA , when any officer asks you for identification, you must give it to him or her. Obviously your group has way too much spare time on your hands, I see pidgeons as nothing more than flying rats, disease ridden, airborne nuisances. find another hobby!

@tbs10916301 You may wet your pants and obey unlawful orders. We know our rights.

You actually ARE required to identify yourself to a police officer. He could have arrested you until you are identified simply on the suspicion that you may be a wanted person and therefor that's why you're refusing to identify yourself.

@memphetic He had not legal standing to compel our identity in this instance.

you made your first mistake giving him your info. Flex your rights. don't be afraid if the police lie to you, you have a right to your privacy
