@jklitten Not true. Gasoline is only used when you're in eco or power mode and going above a certain speed/accelerating rapidly enough.

@slavasey93 plus if you got the elitronic limter off you might get it up too 115 MPH

@SakoTGrimes Actually, if you drive in battery only (EV mode), gasoline will be used to recharge the battery, which is very inefficient.

the prius can go faster but something was limiting the speed was it accelerating by itself lol

@Reparo96 It could have been that I didn't keep the accelerator planted long enough (in my private, closed track *cough cough*) It had accelerated slowly up to the indicated speed, then remained there.

Uh uh!! US spec Toyota Prius, rented from Fox Rent a Car in LAX California. That's one hundred and seven miles per hour. No KPH here.
