Ric Shaw getting pole for the 2010 Wakefield 300 in a brand new V8 RX7. This car with a bit more sorting and new tyres would be a great car. This is the first race meeting with it and ended up 3rd outright with athe fastest lap of the race as well in very poor conditions.

  • @MYVH8U Karl. I have over $100K in this thing. I fell for the illusion that buying your $1500 Global Financial Crisis engine would mean the whole build would be cheap. LOL So the engine may have been cheap but Sonny at Marranos performed his usual magic on it.. There were other similar engines in the race but they were nothing like Marrano's. One similar engine had 8x Individual Throttle Bodies etc but my Marrano's built basically OEM engine blasted everything. Sonny is a wizard on LS engines!

  • @Cuzzo23 Engine is MARRANOS Built L98. Basically an LS2 bottom end with LS3 heads. Standard engine from VE SS Commodore or Pontiac G8. The secret is sending it to MARRANOS first.

  • COLD OLD TYRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • L98.

Shame it wasnt a dry race as I sure the 62sec lap would have been broken in the race itself.

This is a sub60sec car when sorted. Excellent work friend.

Will have my footage of the car on my site this week.

  • what type of V8 is it? LS1?

  • Awesome work Walt, you dont muck around do you.Karl here by the way mate, the 6ltr deal king....lol

  • First outing. Car got finished the night before. Lots of sorting to do yet. Still on OEM sway bars and suspension from 13B setup. Ric was on cold secondhand tyres that take a about 3 laps to warm up but top Ten Shootout only allows one warmup lap. Well done Ric!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
