@PauleQueenie I'm not sure what the difference between dystonia, metabolic deficiency and mito is. I know from the bit I've read about mito is that it is genetic and has something to do with dysfunctal mitochondria in cells. It's been a while since I've read about it, but I do know there's a website about the different types. Try looking on google if you want more specific info.

@kat3196, could you remind me what a mitochondrial disease is? What is the difference between a mitochondrial disease, metabolic deficiency and dystonia?
I seem to not see the difference.
Thank you

Hi there! Doubt you remember me but my daughter Teralynn was in the room when Joey had his eval. She walked to him and he moved his foot on her when he felt she was there. That day makes me tear up to think about it, it was pretty amazing!

Joey has Mitochondrial Encephalomyopathy. By the grace of God, Joey is six years old now, and although his journey has not been easy, he is still here with us and will celebrate his 7th birthday in April.
