The graffiti needs a bit of explanation. "Wir Sind Das Volk" means "We Are The People", an East German political slogan. Many signs were changed to "Wir Sind Ein Volk" ("We Are One People") upon reunification. "DDR" stood for "Deutsche Demokratische Republik" ("German Democratic Republic"), East Germany's official name. West Germany used "D" for "Deutschland". Upon reunification, all the "DDR" auto stickers became outdated.

What is this? German version of Benny Hill?
mrceebees14 1 year ago
Sounds like Benny Hill, doesn't it? But no, this is a GDR propaganda song from the 60s. "Überlegung" by Elke Bitterhof und der Oktoberclub Berlin.
Enjoy and have a nice day!

EmperorAtahualpa 2 years ago
