it's actually a wooden log. this happens a lot with ill informed tourists.

That's the best way to watch whales of any kind. Quietly and respectfully. Thank you for a great presentation. It must have been an amazing moment. Were you breathless?

@Piranhaboy01 West Coast! Living in Corner Brook, but from the Bay St. George area :) Looks like an amazing trip you had there buddy :) I was trying to find videos to convince a friend to go kayaking with me this summer. I don't know if I convinced them or scared them off! I've never been kayaking myself. I'm thinking about trying it at Gros Morne. Should be a good chance of seeing some whales! You had quite the experience there! I might be a bit nervous knowing they're underneath me :)

Sweet!
West Coast of Newfoundland- some of the oldest and ruggest rocks in the world with deep fjords to kayak filled with wildlife... you're sure to have an amazing time. these whales are totally safe and friendly. in fact, if you go, you may even be surrounded by porpoises or have your own humpback as a pet! Mommy, mommy ... can i keep it!!? :D

Where was this shot? Close to St. Anthony I am going to guess. I bet it was fun :) Have to admit I would be a bit nervous though :)
