On saterday 29th of October 2011 organist Willeke Smits played the wellknown Toccata in F BWV 540 of Johann Sebastian Bach on the Maarschalkerweerd organ in the St. Willibrord church. Allthough the organ is an example of the French romantic style, as is the famous organ of the same builder in the concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Bach piece sounds attractive.
Willeke Smits studied organ at the Utrecht conservatory by Rocus van den Heuvel, Bernard Winsemius and Reitze Smits. She continued her study by Olivier Latry and Hans-Olaf Ericsson. She also studied choir direction. Today she is not only playing organ, but also harpsichord and piano. See also http://www.willekesmits.nl
I do ultimately think the tempo should be faster than this however. The choice of disposition, however, is absolutely perfect. There are other choices that would also work perfectly, but this does the trick.

Perfect choice of disposition. Interesting slower interpretation that somehow works. Damn hard to pull this slower tempo off though, and many people would find it boring, but I think it works.

Wonderful! Bach sounds good on this "Cavaille-Col facsimile" for sure. That is the universality of Bach! Even on youtube it sounds terrific!
