I can't believe the solvents, varnishes and oil paints that the artist used in an elementary school.

I was a middle school and a special after-school small group controlled environment. We used hood-vents and teachers controlled all the more toxic stuff. this is not a project I would be able to do in my regular class.

are the kids annoyed that u did the work for them while u were demonstrating?

Actually that was a grant hired artist in residence, not me, and all the kids did their own work. he did do a little more work on some demos, but those kids were working on more than one tile at a time so got to do their own work on another tile or two. Yes it would have been better if the artist had chosen to do his own tiles as the demo throughout the classes.
