Perhaps it's due to how Koichi Ohata's directing abilities were still a little amateur when this came out, but I'm kinda disappointed by how the white Saldo armour only appears in these last two minutes to show off what it can do. Regardless, this is a fun and mindless OVA with some kick-ass music and excellent artwork. I only have the Japanese Laserdisc rip of this, which of course has no subtitles, so if you wish you knew what they were saying, sorry. Get the DVD of it anyway, and I will shamelessly plug my review to this anime: http://forgottenjunk.webs.com/cyberneticsguardian.htm

  • What year is this from?

  • @vidform 1989.

  • Its to bad they never made a sequel to this movie.

Especially with all the other cybernetics gods that showed up at the end.

  • Yeah, real shame it never happened, the Saldo armour was just waiting to show off more ass-kicking too.

  • I find it pretty hilarious Ohate is now working on Bakugan, out of all things.

  • Sadly, work is work, and if you don't make it as a big success the first time you will find yourself handling other things you probably wouldn't want to. At least he's still around, but I wanna see him back at the helm of directing again, fuck what the critics say, in today's world of anime the man would probably produce a breath of fresh air.
