Random Lushness - December 2009

Father Frost is described as a "garden scented" soap made with apple juice and cranberries and that description is really misleading. Yes, scents are relative with different people picking up different notes and nuances of a product but this soap and its description seem like two totally
unrelated things. To me, the first part of Father Frost smells like those French milled soaps you get in sets.
It's not unpleasant but it's just not what you expect from Lush. It's just a soap smell. (Very similar to the much disliked You Wash My Back soap) The second part of Father Frost is a serious smoke note. Not everyone I've talked to smells it but about half do. It is not the
cigarette type smoke smell I pick up in a few other Lush products (such as some of the Ginger products
and Olive Branch) but a BBQ pit, house burning down, fireplace SMOKE scent.

A very sweet friend bought me this piece (thank you CF :) ) and suprised me with it. I would not have bought such a large chunk after sniffing it in the store. I have been using it as a hand soap.

I'm not a fan of the new base but this one lathers a little better than some of the other soaps. Not great but a little better.

The color is the best part of the soap, for me. GORGEOUS purpley blue. Just beautiful!

I would have loved for this soap to really smell of apple juice and cranberries. That sounds so lovely and I was really looking forward to it.




I don't see this one being very popular. It's very strange Lush made this "soapy" scented soap for a special Holiday product. It seems so out of place in their line-up.

@nadauae93 polka dot? I can only assume you mean Wiccy Magic Muscles. Those are beans within the massage bar. Smells of peppermint and cinnamon. It's great for relieving muscle fatigue and tension. I don't find the fragrance medicinal, more like a bit Christmasy. :)

ah yes... nothing like a soap smelling like a smokey frenchman to please the masses ;) j/k but you used french and smokey in the same sentence so immediately my mind was made up thats what it smells like..even with your clarity.... imagination rules on this one and I wont be trying it :)

and yeah, for a company known for their unique and exciting scents, a "soapy" smell doesn't sound very impressive...it is pretty though. lol!
