Just because you can spare easily doesn't mean you can strike easily. There's a reason why they are getting spares.
Spare shooting shows you're fundamentally sound.

You need to practice picking up those spares. I would say spares are as important as strikes.

If you mean the pendulum swing after release it's what most of us are taught to do after a clean follow through. It's so we don't force the shot as much and lock up our muscles. All we are doing is letting the momentum of our swing burn itself out and stay relaxed and balanced at the line. But not everyone does it.
