Dallas Psychiatrist, Colin A. Ross, M.D., recently received the First Place Prize in Psychology from the Next Generation Indie Book Awards for his book, The Great Psychiatry Scam: One Shrinks Personal Journey. In The Great Psychiatry Scam, beliefs and practices of current-day psychiatrists are shown to be unscientific through analysis, commentary, vignettes from Dr. Ross career, and humorous debunking of the genes-brain disease-medication approach to mental health and addictions.

Holy COW! A real psychiartrists telling the truth. Problem is, BIG PHARM wants us to believe all of these ailments are genetic because that way they can sell us lots of drugs that do little (most antidepressants for example of which have only 5- 10 percent effectiveness..they would not allow this with an antibiotic would they). Money keeps the lies alive. It is sad

That is very interesting. I deal with these issues in Special Education. I teach children with emotional/behavioral disorders and the same questions are raised all the time in reference to autism as well. I like the way you explained this.

I don't think it's genetic at all. I can't believe all this psychiatry. It's hard for me to even believe what's going on in our world!
