The word "смага" is an archaic word (noun)in Russian language, of Slavic origin.
Meanings are: heat, fire, flame, burning resin, etc.
In some dialects it could also mean "thirst", referring to this dry, sort of burning sensation in the mouth when one feels thirsty.
In other dialects it refers to the logical consequence of burning process, that is : black or burned place, ashes.
