  • @immolation333 - Totally on the same page as you are. He tries to take his songs too far off track live. Part of the charm is hearing a song the way you know it (or even close), but this is wayyyy different.

    I agree, the recorded version is way better for me. I think Will Oldham sounds awful live most of the time but his recordings are exquisite. So much of the appeal in his songs depends on creaking out the perfect notes, something he can't really do well live. That is just my opinion.

  • This was a fabulous show. Well worth the drive from Michigan.

    The sound engineer was asleep on the job, so some tunes had to be entirely acoustic.

    I hope he keeps playing with The Picket Line.
