I dont always agree with Cramer but on this he is spot on. Im a capitalist too but I also feel that we need a strong government and not all regulations are bad. As an investor I understand the impact that regulations can make on the markets but at the same time de-regulations can be just as dangerous. I site the lifting of the Glass-Steagall act as a good example of how deregulation can be dangerous and I doubt the banking and housing crisis would have happened if this were were still in place.
@AmericanNohbuddy no need to read their comment, i was agreeing with you, while pointing out that it is a government wide problem, not party specific, as many republicans (which i am one) like to claim.
sorry Jim, it was not capitalism, but crony capitalism, allowed by regulations passed by our government, backed by major corporations to limit competitiveness that has created this sham of an economy. Who would want to start a business in a nation in which the government will work with your competitors to shut you down?
@AmericanNohbuddy Reagen was NOT the fiscal conservative many would like to pretend him to be. However, the idea of spending oneself out of a economic glut was not his originally, that banner should go to the "New Deal" plans of the great depression. Both parties are addicted to deficit spending, and both are dead wrong.
Nothing went right because Bush was a RINO working with Democrats and our country was attacked. With that said, we know Bush didn't handle it right; but not every Republican is a Bush. Heck, Obama is a shame to his own party. Bill Clinton came to the center and his people LOVED him! As Republicans, we had Ronald Reagan, a president even Democrat presidents like to say great things about. Democrats had...Carter. LOL! Apparently the last REALLY good Democrat president was JFK. BO's gotta go!

@mac423
Did you read the comment I replied to? He was praising Reagan when he was just as much of an adder to the debt if not more than anyone else.

The Panama Canal was built with near-slavelike labor at a cost of 50,000 lives. Way to go Little Jim!
