This is a demonstration on how Thought Field Therapy or TFT works.
Thought Field Therapy or TFT is one of the main schools of thought encompassed under the banner of Energy Psychology. Like all of the forms of Energy Psychology it was adapted from Applied Kinesiology and the principles inherent in Chinese medicine and the Meridian System which have been practiced for thousands of years.

  • @laughingwithcrows.......

My experience INDEED invalidates the technique as a purported

"cure" for agoraphobia(and I would add other phobias as well). Because it could only qualify as a genuine cure if the phobia never returned(it also returned even after this experience even further invalidating it).

  • Well, the fact that it worked for any period of time suggests that it is an effective technique. It is well known and disclaimed that the technique works on layers, so when you ran into another underlying reason behind your panic, the script you had been using obviously didn't address the deeper layer. I'm not sure your experience invalidates the technique; in fact, if anything, it seems to validate a known component in the process with more complex phobias.

  • This method has been discredited already. Just another junk pseudoscience out there to confuse the uneducated masses and make a lot of money.

    Follow the money! -:)

  • LMFAO this proves that people will believe ANYTHING, LOL

  • By the way, both TFT and EFT work "permanently" unless the person re-activates the phobia or whatever else it is that's bothering them. The good part is, however, both techniques can be used again and again on the same issue over time until it is completely eliminated. Many times, it happens on the first treatment and is permanent.

  • The primary difference between TFT and EFT is that TFT requires diagnosis and specific treatment, while EFT does not. In fact, EFT works on everything all the time and only takes focusing the mind on whatever you want to work on, while TFT requires a knowledge of the various combinations of tapping points to address each type of diagnostic determination. With TFT you must be a licensed physician or psychologist to do any differential diagnosis and with EFT you don't deal with any such thing.

  • Can someone please explain to me what is the difference between TFT and EFT because it seems its the same thing.

  • @LaurieJames

Years back when I did it I too was "cured" of agoraphobia for "all of" about a month or so then it was back to square one. One time I'll never forget doing the exercise failed with the result that the panic was horrific. Perhaps there are permanent cures but you'd really have to check with the elevator phobic person months later to see how they're faring. Joe Barry's "Panic Away" is the best solution I've discovered.

  • @kwixotic sorry dude your off target. I cured someone of an elevator phobia and she was totally sceptical.

  • i agree
