"Animal Mechanique explores the fragile balance between madness and sanity, instinct and consciousness, truth tainted by the trickle of blood. Within every belief, there is a lie. With traces of both german expressionism and avant garde cinema, Animal Mechanique examines the mind of an ordinary man who rediscovers the dormant evil which lies hidden deep within himself. Haunted by visions of a gruesome murder, he constructs the siNobscura, a device which interprets the subconscious and reconstructs fragmented memories. Utilizing a unique animation technique known as pixilation, or humanimation, the sinobscura takes the viewer into the mind of a man as he faces his ultimate fear."

"Saw it in the Silverlake Film Fest.'01 in LA and was intrigued. Oblique in a Lynchian way, beautiful to look at. Loved the stop animation of the actors and misc objects. Loved the original soundtrack. Looking forward to more from this director.
