http://www.mikeyssmail.com This is the right handed version of The Catherine Wheel Stitch. Fabulous to look at, a bit of a challenge to wrap your mind around. This tutorial is slightly different than the one released 2 years earlier. This is the more correct way of the two. This pattern is impressive and fabulous!

  • Hi... I would like to know why in some tutorials, the slip knot counts as one stitch, and in other videos, it does not count as one? Thank you :) And Thank you for the awesome tutorials! I've been watching for a few years and everything I know about crochet, I've learned from you! You are a very good teacher. I have pointed quite a few friends in your direction in the past few years. :)

  • @Miabugz When Mikey learned to crochet he learned that you always count the slipknot as the first stitch but later learned that this was not the case.... do not count the first stitch as the first stitch unless a pattern is telling you otherwise.... cathy@mikeys helpdesk :)

  • I'm an advanced crocheter, but I'm having a tough time with this stitch! I am doing them in sets of 10, but when I go to finish off the row, I have too many at the end. When you finish your first row off, I can't really tell what you're doing. Can you explain how to end off or how you think I have too many remaining?

  • @cr4zyl0ve1030 this stitch is a bit tricky because you have to do a lot of counting!! Not sure why you are ending up with too many stitches at the end? At the end of the rows mikey is changing the colors without knots which may take a little getting use to. Its hard trying to get all the strands of yarn to do what you want....maybe just keep trying....I'm sure you'll get it!!! cathy@Mikeys helpdesk :)

  • I was just wondering if I would have to make the border while I make the pattern or if I would finish the pattern and then go back and make the border?

    Thanks

  • @Baker8D you finish the blanket and then go back and put the border on after your done!!! cathy@mikeys helpdesk :)

  • @windey73 Thanks, that did the trick :)

  • @crazy4love... I think the issue is he says he's going into the 4th st after the dcs, but he's missing counting the next st after those dcs. he's actually going into the 5th st. I could see it everytime he counted. the stitch is small bc the stretching of the chain next to it, but it's still a stitch.

  • awesome awesome awesome tutorial. I am now working on a blanket with this stitch after doing a small practice run and it is coming along great! I will be learning other stitches from your tutorials. keep them coming!

  • Amazing tutorial!! i had to pause a few times and it certainly wasnt the neatist thing ive ever done but ill be doing it again!! your commentry really kept me going to! Thank you so much!
