A Surveyor Looks at the Washington, DC Planning Map: Part 4
In this short video, I suggest that since David Ovason's sky triangle doesn't really match the triangle on the ground formed by the lines between the Capitol and the White House, that you can't say that the sky triangle was used for the angles that it contains.
I suggest that Ovason's thesis would work just as well if you work from a CB location further south with a straightened Pennsylvania Avenue. If the avenue were straight it would be at 24 degrees, now it is at 19.5. The sky triangle features an angle over 30 degrees.
