So much for breeding in the Gulf of Mexico. If they survive, I dare to say they'd be edible.....

holy smokes now thats sum tuna!

lol

unfortunately, even though sushi is awesome and has some nutritional value, the fish is expensive due to the cost of fishing trips to find this peculiar fish.

oh ! I seee.....But I thought tunas expensive because the meats are taste good...and healthy for ur body like "Susi from japa"

The market value of the fish is quite high because the fish is nearly extinct due to bycatch and overfishing and it is considered a delicacy in many countries
-
i don't understand why tuna fish so expensive????

I think the rest of them was used to make food. I don't think they'd waste them just like that to get a small sample.

Hey guys,
Tuna are amazing animals, unfortunately there has been a massive decline in numbers about 75% since 1960's. The people in charge of lookng after stocks are useless they keep on imposing quotas which are inadequate. Most science suggests that if things carry on the way they are mediterranean and north atlantic stocks will collapse. Just as gran banks cod stocks did. Nway my suggestion is always catch and release and only eat sushi made from sustainable sources of tuna (eg Big eye etc.)
