Lucinda explained the fascinating background before launching into this piece near the end of her Sept 26, 2009 concert in Charlottesville. Bob Dylan acquired the lyrics to twenty-five unfinished Hank Williams songs and passed out the tracks to various musicians. Each lucky artist then added music to the unfinished Hank Williams words, and the results will be compiled into a giant compilation CD. Someof the participants, I later learned are Willie Nelson, Jack White, Alan Jackson, and Bob Dylan. She lamented the delay in releasing the album as she recorded this song three years ago. So here it is! We had seats in the second row for this amazing concert.

This made me shiver. It is a truly remarkable rendition of a song that has so few words, I imagine it would be hard to see how it could work if all you were looking at was the lyrics. My education has been neglected I'm afraid because I've never heard of Lucinda til now. But to be able to do this with such a very simple (and undeniably from the heart) unfinished song is simply remarkable. I admire this woman's musicianship.

Outstanding & wouldn't Hank be so impressed & happy? I love hte story behind this song. THE LOST NOTEBOOK OF HANK WILLIAMS for sale this Tuesday, Oct 4, 2011. Thanks Bob Dylan for beginning this enormous task of picking singer/songwriters to finish & sing Hank's notebook. The ones I have heard so far are AWESOME especially Lucinda's. I am certain they will all be hits!!

Excellent match for sure. She hit the mark with that one. Nice and slow and sweet to dance to with someone you love. couldn't ask for a better tribute to Hank Sr. Can't wait for the album to come out.
