we three sirens be
given wings by Goddess Demeter
searched for Persephone
wondering where lord Hades hid her

finally Zeus could take no more
broke her free from evil hands
our siren song was no more needed - do over
swept away from mortal man
banished to our own dead land

lustful creatures of forest and earth now
horrible lovers of darkness with no worth

twisted half birds cursed breath
one with lyre and one with flute
one with voice but three with death

sailors fell into our power

watched as captains lost their course
laughing as they lost their course

come closer come closer come closer
to our bright white and our haunting home
sand and rock and cliff and valley
hide broken ships and broken bones

in life we killed, in death we live
inhabit mans mythology
in word we promised everything, in deed we took it all away
always there in lore and legend, we claimed a stake in history

Jason passed by Orpheus voice
we wailed and cackled cried that day
one man swam to join our side
but Aphrodite blocked his way

close to catch the great Ulysses
he fulfilled a prophecy
his crew had tied him to the mast
we cast ourselves into the sea
let Hades take Persephone

betrayed her betrayed her betrayed we betrayed her
the three fates sealed three paths of friends
the spinner the allotter the inevitable
would have us take each others lives with our own hands
