  • Please vote no on the CLEAR ACT AND LOST. The American people do not want to lose our sovereignty to the UN or give the president the power to legislate through executive order. See section 106e of the CLEAR ACT. This makes congress powerless and gives control to the UN.

  • You tell em' Jim, Stand up and show this 50/50 Senate what a South Carolinian can do to make change happen in Washington. All Americans can be proud to stand with you when they get it Sir. Thank you for standing for us, and representing our country and state.

  • dssn4 - I didn't say we haven't/don't break treaties at some point - but, that we DO honor treaties. Reality shows the US has been the most respected, sought after country in the world for years. And, name all the Pres of sovereign nations we have assassinated - the list escapes me.

  • Yes, we DO break our treaties!! America assassinates Presidents of sovereign nations!

We take over countries and make it look like something else - just like Iraq.

Still, We SHOULDN'T sign this treaty.

  • Re: utter nonsense?? His points were on target, and clear. Reagan would not sign this treaty. Submitting the US to international bodies like the UN, and world courts who are/would be anti-American. The fact of members of UN signing on to human rights (N Korea, Iran, Cuba, ect) yet, violate them continually. But, we DO honor treaties. The Kyoto proto. example, ect.. I don't know what you heard, but, he was right on. But, I agree we should not sign this.

  • Even though most of what Senator DeMint said is utter nonsense, I agree wholeheartedly that the U.S. has no business signing any such treaty.

This is just one more step to world government.

  • Thank you Norm Coleman (Minnesota), Jim DeMint (South Carolina), Johnny Isakson (Georgia), David Vitter (Louisiana) for voting against it.
