According to the longshoremen AND the Port of Oakland's Union president, ALL port workers were paid a full days worth of pay on both shutdowns. So the 1% had to essentially pay them twice to do one days worth of work. So yeah, it is a warning shot to the 1%.

Unions are also part of the problem when it comes to health care. Being force into health care it is guaranteed money for big pharma. Then these same vampiric health care companies raise their prices astronomically. Unions were nice in dandy back when 12years were being mutilated and killed in machines at the local textile factory but times have long since changed. They are nothing like that and hardly represent people in actual need. They are bullies and should be done away with.

No. Unions only help out those that pay their dues. They are nothing more than legalized mafia in the work force, in today's age. If you don't join the union in many unionized work places you are single out and then fired by management from the influence from the union. Whether there is a strike or not, everyone not in the union is a scab. Unions are a way to further enslave the middle class. You get stuck in the union job and and have to pay "dues" to some syndicate or risk fired.
